Is there a petition we can sign?

My son is in Kindergarten at Gault. He himself chose to be taught in English, even though he is bilingual. I'm lucky we live in an area where our school hasn't been threatened - yet. I don't know what I'd do, or how he'd react, if I had to tell him he couldn't go to his school of choice. I think all the parents of New Frontiers kids should stand up against the school closures. They're robbing our kids of the opportunity of learning both languages in a fully functional capacity (I have spoken to people who have gone through the French school system and their level of English is poor to negligable). If this is taken away from them, their job prospects dwindle, English is the universal business language, and their right to speak in whichever language they prefer is compromised.

I would very sincerely hope the school board will look at the options Franklin Elementary has proposed to them. It would be really cool to have field trips to a centre that promotes the environment, especially since we are in a more rural area. It would also attract business from other school boards. And an internet centre that not only helps the kids, but also the area's adults is fantastic.

I work in a corporate environment. I know when an idea is floated or a proposal is brought forward by the corporation, it's pretty much a done deal. Don't be corporate. Corporations don't consider the individuals involved. Your business is about individuals. Make the best decision for them.
