The Region

In the early 1800's Loyalist immigrants planted the first apple trees in the townships of Franklin, Havelock, Hemmingford and Hinchinbrooke and the village of St. Antoine Abbé.

Today, apples have become the leading agricultural product here on the north side of Covey Hill and the prinicipal economic activity of the region. Our 22 members are spread out across this district which measures about 40 kilometres long. A driving tour of this green corridor crosses orchard country as well as an authentic countryside inhabited by warm and welcoming people.

All along your route, let yourself be immersed in the rolling hills and fall coloured forest slopes; admire the beauty of dozens of orchards loaded with ripe red fruit ready for picking.
